The deep night sky dominates the upper frame above the Halifax waterfront, where the dark water reflects the faint city lights. Below, the stone undercroft of a viaduct arch stands damp, with water dripping onto the ferny stone base, creating small ripples in the shadowed area. A district heating pipe trench releases steam that drifts low through fallen autumn leaves scattered along the paved path. The quiet infrastructure of the city at night, with the rough texture of the stone contrasting against the smooth, dark water and the soft, rising vapor from the underground pipes.
