Broad skylight floods the roadside diner in Yogyakarta, bouncing off pale walls to illuminate a simple white plate. A thick, golden-brown schnitzel rests centrally, its crispy coating catching the diffuse morning light. A bright yellow lemon wedge sits beside the meat, its rind textured and oily. The shallow depth of field blurs the rough wooden table edge in the foreground while keeping the food sharp. Muted reflections stretch across the damp floor, hinting at the wet season outside.
