Late afternoon sun fractures through overhead palm fronds, painting shifting patches of gold and shadow across a wooden stall in Fez. A merchant stands behind a display of hand-blown glass ornaments, their translucent surfaces catching the dappled brightness in hues of amber, cobalt, and emerald. To the left, a fish counter glistens with wet scales, while wisps of steam and cooking smoke drift horizontally through the air, softening the background figures. The glass spheres rest on rough-hewn cedar planks, their smooth curves against the weathered wood grain. Dust motes hang suspended in the light beams, and the merchant's hands adjust a hanging blue pendant. A final bead of condensation rests on the rim of a clear glass bauble.
