A street vendor stands behind a metal cart, arranging stacks of small white ceramic bowls for the morning breakfast rush. The light catches the glossy surfaces of the stacked saucers, creating sharp reflections against the dark, damp pavement. Nearby, a plastic crate holds empty glass bottles, some with dried residue on the rims, while a coiled hose lies on the ground beside a worn rubber mat. The quiet, functional preparation of a local eatery before the city fully wakes, with peeling paint on the surrounding shophouse walls visible in the shadows.
