George Town Reflecting Shophouses at First Light

Rain-slicked cobblestones in George Town reflect the pale morning sky and the faded pastel facades of heritage shophouses. A pair of rubber slippers sits abandoned near a drainage grate, evidence of a quick exit. Water drips from the eaves of a weathered wooden doorframe, where peeling paint reveals layers of history. The street is empty, save for a stray dog resting in the doorway of a closed shop. The soft, diffused light of early morning highlights the texture of the wet stone and the scuffed wood of the shutters. No people are visible, only the quiet aftermath of the rain in this historic Malaysian district.
