Freight Elevator Lobby Stacked with Dollies in Zapopan
by Mark Dale
North window sidelight washes the dispatch office lobby in cool, diffuse daylight, highlighting wet condensation beading on the glass panes. Rows of empty metal dollies stand aligned against a concrete wall, their chrome surfaces reflecting the gray afternoon sky. Cardboard boxes labeled with logistics codes fill the space between the elevator doors and the window. The floor shows scuff marks from years of tire traffic. Heavy crates rest on wooden pallets near the threshold, their brown paper wrapping damp from the wet season air outside. Vertical lines of the elevator frame guide the gaze toward the stacked inventory, showing organized readiness. A small puddle of water gathers near the base of the nearest dolly, mirroring the light from the window above.
