A bustling street food stall in Hong Kong glows under the harsh glare of a bare bulb before sunrise. Steam rises thickly from a large metal pot of boiling broth, obscuring the face of the vendor who stirs the contents with a long wooden ladle. A customer in a dark coat stands at the counter, waiting for a bowl of hot noodles topped with sliced pork and green onions. Condensation beads on the plastic stool nearby, reflecting the neon sign of a closed shop across the narrow alley. The quiet intensity of early morning commerce in a dense urban environment.
