Floating Balcony Tram Wires Twilight Berlin
Sodium-vapor dusk glow washes a symmetrical passageway in Charlottenburg, Berlin, where late autumn air leaves surfaces rough and weather-beaten. A cantilevered balcony juts from the left wall, its stone railing showing deep cracks and moss patches. Above, tram wires stretch horizontally across the frame, vibrating slightly in the still air. Gravity has partially failed here; a heavy iron lantern hangs suspended in midair beside the balcony, defying the pull that anchors the building. Another floating stone block drifts near the ceiling, casting a sharp shadow on the wet pavement below. The sky visible through the skylight is a deep, clear blue, against the warm orange streetlights. Every object remains distinct, solid, and unmoving despite the impossible suspension. One rivet on the floating lantern catches the light, marking the boundary between the grounded stone and the drifting metal.
