Fisherman at Dawn Light

Thick, gray mist rests on the Danube bank near the Chain Bridge, softening the distant Buda hills into pale ghosts. On a wet stone embankment, a lone fisherman stands silhouetted against the dim light, his wool coat heavy with moisture. Beside him, a battered plastic bucket holds a few silver fish, their scales catching the faint, diffused dawn. A rusted metal railing runs along the foreground, its texture rough and cold. In the background, the faint outline of a trawler cuts through the fog, its navigation light a single, steady red eye.
