A narrow alleyway in Fez, Morocco, glows under the fading blue light of dusk, illuminating a traditional shoe cleaning stall where a worker polishes leather boots. Puddles of rainwater mixed with oil sheen reflect the dim street lamps along the substation access road nearby. A pair of rubber rain boots stands near the entrance of a doorway, while a wooden boot scraper rests on the stone step. Canisters of polish line the counter, and smudges mark the sill edge from daily use.
