The last blue light of evening settles over the Tonle Sap river in Phnom Penh, casting a cool hue on a busy wooden ferry dock. A metal-hulled ferry sits low in the water, its deck crowded with passengers and a cluster of bicycles leaning against the railings. Several men in casual shirts and trousers navigate the gangway, balancing bags and handling the bikes for loading. The water ripples gently against the hull, reflecting the fading sky and the warm glow of streetlights beginning to flicker on along the distant shore. The everyday rhythm of evening transit, with the ferry preparing to depart as the day concludes.
