Faded Blue Aprons in Granada

A pair of faded blue aprons hangs from a rusted iron hook on the exterior wall of a traditional Granada home, catching the dim, gray light of the rainy dusk. Raindrops bead on the heavy cotton fabric, darkening the weave and showing the texture of the material as it rests on the metal fastener. Behind the aprons, the rough stucco of the building is slick with moisture, reflecting the faint glow of a nearby streetlamp in the wet gloom. One drop of water slides slowly down the hem, disappearing into the shadowed crevice of the wall below.
