A soft-coated English Toy Spaniel rests on weathered wooden porch boards, its deep mahogany and black coat catching the cool, diffuse light of early morning. The dog's distinctive domed head and short muzzle turn slightly toward the camera, framed by large, velvety ears that hang close to the cheeks.
