The concrete ramp of the Quebec City ferry terminal slopes down toward the exposed, muddy riverbed as the St. Steel pilings stand like dark pillars in the wet sediment, reflecting the pale blue of the early morning sky. A few pedestrians in heavy winter coats walk along the upper promenade, their breath visible in the cold air. The scene is quiet but functional, with the industrial textures of the dock contrasting against the natural, rippling mudflats. The light is soft and diffused, casting long, faint shadows across the damp concrete and highlighting the gritty texture of the exposed riverbank.
