Dusting Flour in Budapest

First light after rain washes the cobblestones of a Buda side street in cool, diffused gray, reflecting the muted tones of the surrounding stucco facades. A local bakery window, still steamed from the morning bake, offers a glimpse of the interior where a baker in a white apron is vigorously dusting flour onto a wooden counter, the motion blurring slightly. Outside, a striped awning, damp and heavy, drapes over a small display of fresh bread, its fabric edges glistening with droplets. The quiet, rhythmic start of the day, with the wet pavement mirroring the soft glow from inside the shop, showing warmth against the chill of the Hungarian morning.
