Rain blurs the glass of a hawker center stall in Singapore as dusk settles, casting a soft, diffused glow over the scene. A vendor in a translucent plastic apron wipes down a stainless steel counter, her movements quick and practiced. Behind her, colorful ceramic bowls are stacked precariously, catching the ambient light from the overhead fluorescent tubes. A child in a bright yellow raincoat waits patiently, holding a damp umbrella that drips onto the tiled floor. The wet pavement outside reflects the neon signs of nearby shops, creating a mosaic of pink and blue hues.
