Golden hour sunlight washes over the weathered limestone steps of the Old Town, casting long shadows across the uneven pavement. A temporary construction elevator stands anchored against the ancient city walls, its metal gate slightly ajar. Bundles of rusted rebar lean against the base of the structure, waiting for the next phase of restoration. In the background, the terracotta roofs of the historic district glow under the fading light, while the distant Adriatic Sea reflects the soft orange hue of the setting sun.
