Domestic Clutter in Dublin

Sunlight cuts through the canopy of a mature plane tree, casting dappled leaf shadows across the pale plaster wall of a Georgian townhouse on Dublin’s Merrion Square. A wrought-iron railing separates the pedestrian path from the garden, where a faded blue laundry basket sits tipped on its side, spilling damp linen onto the stone paving. Beside it, a wooden ladder leans precariously against the low brick wall, its rungs worn smooth by years of use. The clear afternoon light highlights the texture of the stucco and the rough grain of the wood, while a single spindle chair rests in the shade, its curved back catching the bright sun.
