Dawn light on Venice canal bridge with laundry and geraniums

The first light of dawn washes over the Rialto Bridge in Venice, Italy, casting long, soft shadows across the ancient stone steps. A resident hangs wet laundry on a line strung between the bridge’s arches, the white sheets catching the pale morning glow. Below, the canal water is dark and still, reflecting the muted colors of the surrounding buildings. On a windowsill nearby, a cluster of bright red geraniums adds a splash of color against the weathered brick. A glazed ceramic vase sits on the sill, its surface reflecting the faint light of the rising sun.
