The still hours before dawn cast a dim blue light over a concrete drainage grate near the base of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in New South Wales. One beam of early window light reflects off the wet metal of the drain, highlighting the texture of the urban infrastructure. On a nearby windowsill, dark smudges mark the edge where the frame meets the glass, evidence of daily use in the pre-dawn quiet. The gritty realism of the city before the tourist crowds arrive, focusing on the mix of shadow and faint illumination on industrial surfaces rather than any staged arrangement.
