Golden hour light floods the narrow, tiled interior of a traditional Kochi barber shop, illuminating a chaotic yet intimate workbench where a barber stands mid-stroke, lather white against a customer's dark beard. A straight razor rests in a ceramic jar beside a shaving brush with worn bristles, their surfaces catching the warm, low-angle sun that spills through the open front door. Outside, the street is a blur of passing bicycles and pedestrians, their shadows stretching long across the wet pavement. A small dog sleeps curled on a woven mat near the entrance, unaware of the razor’s glint.
