Cricket Batsman Pulls Ball on Tai O Mountain Path

Early morning light skims the edge of a wooden cricket bat held mid-swing by a player on a narrow mountain path near Tai O. Deep shadows cloak the figure, while a sharp rim light traces the curve of the helmet and the tension in the bat's handle. The batsman wears a white shirt and dark trousers, standing on a dirt track scattered with fallen leaves from the turning season. Wind ripples the fabric of the shirt and bends the tall grass growing along the path's edge. Behind the player, traditional stilt houses of Tai O rise faintly from the mist, their wooden pillars weathered gray. The bat connects with an invisible ball, sending a blur of motion toward the boundary line marked by weathered stones. One shadow stretches long across the dusty ground, anchored by the player's stance.
