The dish rests on a scratched laminate table, catching the warm glow of a setting sun that streams through a nearby window. Golden light pools across the table surface, illuminating the glossy sheen of the caramelized sugar and the soft texture of the thin pancakes. Shadows stretch long along the plain walls of the roadside diner, against the intense brightness of the fire. Steam rises faintly from the hot sauce, mingling with the ambient dust motes suspended in the sunbeams. at the edge is the sharp reflection of the flame dancing on the rim of the glass beside the plate.
