Cooper Fitting Staves Under Moonlit Night in Srinagar
Cold moonlight spills across a narrow market lane in Srinagar, illuminating a cooper hammering wooden staves into a wine barrel. The worker wears a thick woolen coat, sleeves rolled to reveal hands gripping a heavy iron hammer. Autumn leaves scatter across the cobblestones, caught in the whipping wind that blurs the edges of the scene. The barrel stands on rough-hewn supports, its curved staves glowing faintly silver under the pale sky. Above, the deepest night sky stretches dark and empty, devoid of stars. The cooper strikes the wood with rhythmic force, sending tiny wood chips flying into the air before they vanish into the shadows. One rivulet of condensation rests on the barrel's rim, freezing instantly in the biting cold. The wind whips a loose scarf around the cooper's neck, its frayed ends snapping against the stone wall beside him.
