Under the amber sodium glare of a Lyon streetlamp, a narrow balcony reveals a cluttered domestic tableau against a backdrop of slate roofs. A ceramic soup bowl sits abandoned on a wrought-iron railing, steam long gone, next to a half-peeled dragon fruit that glows with unnatural magenta flesh under the artificial light. A glass sugar jar, its contents depleted, catches a sharp specular highlight from a passing car’s headlights, while a mechanical pencil lies discarded beside a crumpled receipt on the wooden table. In the shadowed corner, a knitting basket overflows with yarn, its texture rough against the smooth, cold glass.
