Cliffside Restaurant in Busan at The Early Morning Light
A vintage 1970s color photograph shows the Haedong Yonggungsa area in Busan during the quiet early morning hours. The iron tracks of the Haedong Yonggungsa Funicular curve gently along the steep granite cliffside, leading toward a traditional restaurant perched precariously above the East Sea. Below the tracks, a narrow stone path winds down to the water, where the rhythmic crash of waves is implied by the mist clinging to the rocks. A few early morning joggers in muted athletic wear navigate the steps, their movements blurred slightly by the slow shutter speed typical of the era. The sky is a pale, hazy blue, diffusing the sunlight over the rugged coastline.
