Dark rice and sliced Chinese sausage fill a round clay pot centered on a worn wooden table. North-window sidelight strikes the scene from the left, illuminating the glossy sauce and creating soft reflections on the glazed ceramic rim. Green scallion flecks scatter across the rice surface. A stack of white plates rests to the right, catching the cool late-afternoon glow. The dry season leaves the table free of condensation, showing only the texture of the wood grain beneath the pot. Oily sheen pools at the base of the vessel. Shadows stretch across the table edge where the light fades.
