Clay Pot in Valparaiso

A weathered clay pot sits on a rough concrete ledge of a steep hillside home in Valparaiso under the glow of sodium streetlights. The terracotta rim catches a thin ring of warm orange light, against the deep blue shadows pooling in the soil. Behind the pot, a corrugated metal sheet reflects the mixed city illumination, showing streaks of white and amber. One dried stem leans out of the dark earth, its brittle texture highlighted by the harsh overhead glare.
