Warm golden hour light floods the industrial interior of a foundry kitchen in Chengdu's Kuanzhai Alley, casting copper-toned reflections on stainless steel counters. A chef stands center frame, tilting a large skillet where bright orange flames erupt from a pan of crepes. The fire illuminates the cook's focused expression and the clean, uncluttered workspace around them.
