Charred Jerk Chicken and Rice Platter

Bright midday light falls through sheer curtains, casting soft, shifting patterns across a crisp white linen tablecloth. A large ceramic platter holds generous portions of charred jerk chicken, its skin dark and blistered from the grill. Golden rice sits beside the meat, speckled with herbs and flecks of black pepper. The dry season leaves surfaces clean and uncluttered. Negative space frames the dish, showing the vibrant reds and deep browns of the spices. One shadow from the platter rim falls sharply onto the fabric, at the base of the meal in the bright light.
