Fine white chalk dust coats the surface of a black magnetic timer board mounted high on a wall. Bright yellow and red magnets form numbers against the dark background. Below, black rubber mats with visible seams cover the floor, their texture softened by a thin haze of mop water. Crisp studio lights reflect off the damp floor, creating muted streaks of white and gray. Straps and barbell edges rest against the wall in the periphery. The monsoon season brings a subtle moisture that lingers on the surfaces. No people occupy the space, leaving only the equipment and the dust in the midday light.
