A ceramic plate rests on the narrow stone sill of a window in Lisbon, illuminated by the warm glow of a streetlamp below. The plate is empty, its glossy white surface reflecting the yellowish sodium light that cuts through the darkness of the night. Behind it, the dark interior of the room is barely visible, with the silhouette of a houseplant standing against the glass. Raindrops streak the window pane, blurring the city lights into soft, glowing orbs in the distance.
