Ceramic Crocks in San Francisco

Sunlight slants through the open door of a Mission District corner store, illuminating a dusty wooden counter where a pair of worn leather suitcases sits beside a stack of jade-green ceramic crocks. A wrinkled linen tablecloth drapes over the edge of a nearby prep station, catching the warm late afternoon glow. Behind the counter, a shopkeeper’s hand reaches for a glass bottle, the motion slightly blurred. Outside, the street is busy with pedestrians, but the interior remains still, the textures of the old stoneware and the rough fabric against the smooth, sunlit floor tiles.
