Cape Town Stray Dog

A small, scruffy stray dog stands on the sun-baked concrete stoep of a Cape Flats home, its fur glowing with the first warm light of dawn. The animal pauses near the rusted legs of a metal chair, casting a long, sharp shadow that stretches across the weathered floor tiles. Dust motes drift in the slanted beams of sunlight, highlighting the rough texture of the pebbles pressed into the drying mud of a nearby planter. The dog tilts its head slightly, ears perked, as it gazes toward the open gate leading to the quiet street beyond.
