Canal View at The Early Morning Light in Amsterdam

The narrow canal in Amsterdam reflects the pale early morning light against a row of tall, gabled brick houses with dark timber frames. A small wooden boat is moored along the cobblestone edge, its ropes tied securely to an iron ring embedded in the stone. The water is still, mirroring the muted colors of the sky and the weathered facades of the buildings. A few bicycles lean against a railing near a doorway, their tires resting on the wet pavement.
