A polished brass ship's bell hangs centered on a weathered teak companionway frame, its surface reflecting the fading ambient light. Heat haze shimmers just above the dark water, distorting the horizon line where the city meets the sky. The teak grain runs vertically, showing deep grooves and natural oil textures against the softening blue air. Behind the bell, the causeway railing stretches horizontally, leading toward the faint orange glow of distant buildings. A small droplet of moisture rests on the lower rim of the brass, catching a single point of reflected light.
