Blue Hour on Vendor

Under the cool indigo wash of blue hour, a narrow alley in Osaka’s Dotonboru district glows with the saturated neon reflections of nearby signage. A vendor stands behind a cramped, steaming food cart, his face illuminated by the warm orange glow of a gas burner and the cool blue of overhead LED strips. On the counter, a plastic hose nozzle rests next to a stack of colorful postcards, evidence of the day’s cleanup.
