A dark bicycle rests against the brick corner of a small cafe, its tires pressed against the damp pavement of a wind-open causeway. Late summer leaves skitter across the wet asphalt in the foreground, caught in a sudden gust. The sky has deepened to a saturated indigo, casting a cool tone over the metal frame and handlebars. Far in the distance, a faint orange glow from the town horizon cuts through the twilight, illuminating the steam rising from a nearby vent. The cafe's wooden awning casts a sharp shadow that meets the bike's rear wheel. One leaf rests on the lower chainstay, trembling slightly before falling.
