The dog’s head tilts with natural asymmetry, highlighting the fine, woolly texture of the fur along the muzzle and the soft set of its ears. Late afternoon sunlight from a nearby window in a Nanchang home casts gentle highlights on the gray-blue coat while leaving the background in soft shadow. A subtle seam in the floorboards runs diagonally beneath the sofa, at the base of the scene in a lived-in domestic space.
