Pale stone columns and arched niches define the Baroque church facade standing opposite a formal civic plaza in Tanzania. Sculpted saints occupy deep recesses along the white wall, their forms softened by the warm glow of city lights beginning to ignite across the square. A shallow pool of water in the foreground acts as a mirror, duplicating the architectural details in a perfect, inverted reflection. The dry season air holds no clouds, allowing the twilight to settle evenly over the scene. Wet pavement glistens with the reflected illumination, creating a seamless vertical symmetry between the solid masonry above and the shimmering liquid surface below. Dark outlines of the statues meet their bright, rippling counterparts in the still water.
