Bar Stools in Tokyo

A pair of dark metal bar stools stands empty against the low wall of a narrow Tokyo alley during the blue hour. The cool ambient light reflects softly off the curved chrome legs and the worn black leather seats. Behind the stools, a small wooden sign hangs from a wire, its white characters faintly visible in the twilight. One warm glow spills from a nearby izakaya window, casting long shadows across the wet pavement.
