Morning light spills across a weathered Tuscan facade, illuminating a wrought-iron balcony where terracotta pots hold resilient rosemary and basil. Below, a small bakery awning in faded ochre casts a soft shadow over a chipped blue enamel sink, its porcelain surface cracked from years of use. A brown dog rests in the shade of the doorway, eyes half-closed against the brightening sky. Inside the open window, a simple glass vase holds a few sprigs of dried lavender, catching the first rays of sun. The street is quiet, with only the faintest hint of movement from a distant shutter closing.
