Flat late afternoon light from a broad commercial skylight washes across an open-plan office bay in Lijiang. A temporary badge photo-backdrop tube stands upright beside glass partitions where condensation beads heavily along the lower edges. Laminate desks and grey carpet absorb the diffuse glow, turning wood grain pale and softening the space. Rows of empty workstations and structural columns remain sharp in the background, while the foreground blurs into a gentle haze. Water droplets rest on the glass, creating a textured barrier between the dry interior and the wet world beyond. The light flattens the colors, turning the wood grain pale and the carpet a muted grey. A faint reflection of the tube appears on the wet surface at the edge of the frame.
