Attic Window Seat Erbil Golden Hour View
by Amy Camacho
Warm amber light floods the sloped attic room in Erbil, pooling across the wooden floorboards and reflecting off condensation beading on the nearby window glass. Fairy lights drape loosely across the rafters, casting small points of soft glow against the whitewashed wood. A cushioned window seat sits directly beneath the angled roofline, covered in patterned textiles in deep reds and earthy ochres. The midsummer sun strikes the glass at a low angle, turning the droplets into tiny prisms that scatter the light. Dust motes hang suspended in the shafts of illumination. The view looks straight down, revealing the intimate arrangement of pillows and a small woven rug resting on the slanted floor. The condensation marks the boundary between the cool interior air and the heat of the summer evening outside.
