Artisan Soldering Lead Came in Ejido Market Lane

Orange sodium-vapor light washes the narrow market lane in Ejido, against the deepening blue of the last evening sky. A stained glass artisan sits at a wooden workbench along the lane edge, hands guiding a soldering iron across lead came strips that frame colorful glass panes. Dust hangs low above the dry ground, catching the streetlamp glow and settling on the rough stucco walls of nearby stalls. The parallel lines of the lane and the workbench draw toward the molten tip of the iron. Dust motes float in the beam of light, resting on the textured wood surface and the colorful glass pieces arranged before the craftsman.
