Arranging Citrus in Izmir

A narrow Izmir alleyway glistens under the heavy, diffused grey of a dusk rainstorm, the wet cobblestones reflecting the warm, amber spill from a nearby bakery window. A local vendor huddles under a translucent plastic awning, arranging crates of bright green citrus against the damp stone wall, his movements quick and practiced. Raindrops streak the plastic, blurring the background where a faded blue door and hanging laundry suggest residential life above the shop. The tactile contrast between the rough, wet pavement and the smooth, waxy fruit, grounded by the mundane reality of commerce continuing despite the weather, with no forced props or staged elements, just the honest texture of a Turkish street in the rain.
