Soft, diffused dawn light falls through a thick morning haze that rests on the stone archway of a station entry near Bordeaux. The symmetrical composition pulls attention down a tiled stair hall where wet surfaces reflect the pale sky. Early spring moisture glistens on the gray pavement of the nearly empty plaza outside. Vibrant red tiles line the steps, against the cool gray tones of the mist. Light drizzle coats the surfaces, creating a slick sheen on the stone and ceramic. The perspective lines of the arch and stairs align perfectly, guiding vision toward the distant, blurred opening. one drop of water hangs from the edge of a stone cornice, catching the faint morning glow.
