Cool morning light spills across a narrow Delhi lane, catching the vibrant saffron and marigold garlands stacked on a florist’s wooden cart. The scene is alive with movement as a dozen pigeons scatter from the wet, darkened tile grout beneath the cart’s wheels, their grey feathers against the fresh flowers. A vendor’s hand, holding a pair of scissors, trims the stems of a jasmine bouquet, while a single clothespin clamps a price tag to the edge of the display.
