Under the flat glare of noon, a thick adobe wall with a wooden vigas overhang defines the corner of a building in Santa Fe. A row of cypress trees is absent, replaced by scrubby desert vegetation and a gravel driveway. A large solar array glints silver across the ground nearby, reflecting the harsh light. A rusty bucket sits on a stone step, its lip showing orange oxidation from exposure to the elements. A pair of tailor shears rests on a wooden cutting board placed on a low table, unused. The dry, bright reality of the region without artificial arrangement.
