Rain-slicked pink sandstone walls of a Jaipur haveli absorb the diffuse first light, their porous texture gleaming with moisture. A local vendor adjusts a faded blue tarp over a stack of woven cane baskets, the material’s honeycomb pattern catching the weak sun. Water drips steadily from the eaves, pooling in the uneven cobblestones below. In the background, a white table fan sits idle on a wooden ledge, blades still, while a yellow handkerchief flutters briefly in the damp breeze before settling against a brass drawer pull.
